developing. certainly coming down in the sierra nevada. chain controls remain in place and all routes lead together tahoe area. it has been coming down heavily in truckee. the temperatures are running colder than where they were 24 hours ago. most of the bay area in the 40s. 37 in santa rosa. and here are the highlights. showers into tomorrow. snow level is 1500 to 2,000 feet. and we are going to see freezing cold conditions friday morning. here is a look at the system. the coldest air of the season so far right here. cold front has passed. we are going to be seeing some of the colder air filtering in. we will keep the cold, light showers through thursday. here is a computer animation. we have the few showers skirting the coast. we will keep in the possibility of a hit or miss shower. 3:00 a.m. you will notice pink showing up around mount hamilton. that is a mix of rain and snow. and that is certainly a possibility later on tomorrow as well. showers at 5:00 a.m. when some of you are heading out the door. make sure you grab your umbrellas. into 9:00 a.m., a few light showers in the south. m

morning. we will look at live doppler 7 hd across the expire state. it is dry. it is dry in nevada, arizona, utah, washington, oregon, all dry right now and under the influence of the high pressure. temperatures are climbing. we have mid-to-upper 50's through the central valley, eureka down to big sur and mid-to-upper 40's in the sierra. if you are headed down south, it is starting to get warmer with temperatures ten degrees warmer than last week with mid-to-upper 60's around los angeles and palm springs and san diego. we have a "spare the air" today. that is from particulate air, not from the cars. >> we have light conditions on wednesday morning. to the golden gate bridge, no fog. you are down to two lanes southbound. that will be reconfigured later on this morning in another 20 minutes. to four lanes southbound and two lanes in the northbound direction. clear and smooth sailing with no problem there. from marin to san francisco, no problems. the bay bridge toll plaza, no metering lights and no problems, stalls, or accidents. road work on the westbound direction is being picked u

into the sierra nevada. light rain also in vegas. if you are headed out even along the coast, mild visibility half moon bay. really some changing weather conditions throughout the day today all around the bay area and to the south of us. so starting out there is fog. turning cooler today and a cool, dry pattern into next week. we aren't talking about any rain. the only possibility of rain we are looking at is from this weak system to the north and it's only going to give as you slight chance. yesterday's rain in southern california continues to move out of the picture. but we could have a slight chan of a shower from this incoming system. now, to the north and west of us is the cold air that is bottled up from the gulf of alaska. as this front pushes on through, it provides that instability, that cooler air and a slight chance of a shower throughout the entire weekend but it favors the north bay and especially into your sunday morning. so forecasted highs across the state really taking a hit from the mid-60s in our own neck of the woods to the 50s. 60s in southern california, but a dry day today w

owner. he's from the gun rights state of nevada. he has been very cautious saying that the senate should be cautious, but my understanding from talking to a number of sources is that he's speaking for himself but he's also speaking from the perspective of political reality, that there are a number of people in his caucus who would potentially really get slammed for supporting anything. so that's why he wants to take it slow. he doesn't want his people to walk the plank and suddenly not be the senate majority, lose the majority. but the other thing i think is really important to keep in mind is just how different this is. kind of taking it up to 5,000 or 10,000 feet. i cannot tell you how many times after so many of these tragedies, after one of their own gabby giffords was shot, calling up senate democratic sources saying, are you going to do anything? nope. nothing's changed. after aurora, nope, nothing's changed. n newtown changed the dialogue, the decision at the white house and here in congress by some to put this issue, again, which was very, very difficult. for ten years democrats
